台灣人打麻將，大概從小打到大。過年打、平常打、颱風天打、無聊也打。我也是。Taiwanese people play mahjong from childhood. During New Year, regular days, typhoon days, bored days. Me too.
但打了幾十年以後，我發現麻將教會我的不是怎麼贏，是怎麼輸。怎麼在手氣不好的時候少輸一點，怎麼在被別人胡的時候不要崩潰，怎麼在看到一手爛牌的時候還是好好打完這一局。But after decades of playing, I realized mahjong didn't teach me how to win — it taught me how to lose. How to lose less when luck is bad, how to not collapse when someone else wins, how to play out a round well even with terrible tiles.
這跟人生的決策是一樣的。你控制不了發到手上的牌，但你可以決定怎麼打。要不要聽一個比較安全的？要不要拼一個比較大的？要不要放棄胡牌改為防守？每一次出牌都是一個決策，每一個決策都在不完整資訊下做出。Same as life decisions. You can't control the tiles you're dealt, but you can decide how to play them. Go for a safe hand? Aim for something bigger? Give up winning to play defense? Every discard is a decision, every decision made with incomplete information.

奇門遁甲以時間推算空間方位的吉凶。八個門各有不同的意義——三吉（生門、休門、開門）、一小吉（景門）、四凶（杜門、傷門、驚門、死門）。不是迷信，是一種古老的決策輔助系統。或者說，至少是一種讓你在坐下來之前多想一秒的方式。Qi Men Dun Jia calculates directional fortune from time. Eight gates each carry meaning — three auspicious (Life, Rest, Open), one minor auspicious (View), and four inauspicious (Block, Harm, Shock, Death). Not superstition — an ancient decision support system. Or at least, a way to make you think one extra second before sitting down.
在開始打麻將之前，先確認當天的日期與時辰。透過計算器找出吉位方向，然後選擇坐在面向或背靠吉位的座位。生門、休門、開門為三大吉門，特別是生門主財，最為有利。Before playing, confirm the date and hour. Use the calculator to find auspicious directions, then sit facing or backed by the lucky direction. Life, Rest, and Open are the three great gates — Life Gate for wealth is most favorable.

麻將是一種講究運勢與心理的桌遊。奇門遁甲可以根據當下的時辰，推算出八個方位各自對應的八門吉凶。坐在吉門方位，有助於聚財、增運。特別是「生門」方位，是最有利於求財的位置。Mahjong is a game of fortune and psychology. Qi Men Dun Jia maps eight gates to eight directions based on the current hour. Sitting in an auspicious direction aids fortune — the Life Gate position is most favorable for wealth.

奇門遁甲的方位計算以「局數」為基礎，分陽遁與陰遁，一年共有 540 局。本工具提供簡化版計算，作為參考之用。命運在自己手中，方位只是助緣之一，牌技與心態同樣重要。Calculations are based on 540 annual configurations of Yang and Yin modes.
